Conference life

The best thing about these conferences (particularly this year)? Hanging out informally with co-workers who I wasn't as close friends with before and having fun. :) I must say, thus far I am really enjoying the downtime with everyone. The talks? Entirely secondary.

Amen!

Hanging out with (some of) my colleagues at the social events is what makes being a historian a lot of fun.

That's what I always loved about travel assignments for work - hanging out with coworkers and getting to know them better that way. A lot of lifelong friendships were developed that way.

Hi Iggster! I am so happy you are having fun! And I want to again emphasize how great I think that whole speed dating thing is. I am so proud of you.

I'm fond of the free pens myself.

See, that's just what I hate about the conferences my husband goes to solo.
