Actual Medical Advice
Earlier this week I was a little freaked out by a potential medical issue, so I emailed my doctor. From his reply (which was overly condescending in tone):If you were to continue to stand while feeling lightheaded, you might lose consciousness and fall down.
I wanted to make sure that you all had access to this extremely important information and do not suffer unnecessarily!!! Ugggh.
He also helpfully defined the phrase "well hydrated." Gee. Thanks.
PS: For those of you who will (have) argued that this is a result of his need to be clear so as not to leave something out in an overly litigious environment and to cover his ass, I think that the previous and equally obvious sentence " If you are feeling light-headed, it is best to sit down until you feel better rather than continuing to stand." served that purpose.

Well, duh! Yup, I think he was trying to cover his ass.
Hi Iggy! I followed you from Carey's link. No... I'm not *stalking* you. Why would you think that?
Anyway, glad I finally had time to come find you!
Hi!! Nice to see you here!
Iggy. Thanks for sharing that medical advice. I've had issues with feinting while standing and I've never had any clue how to deal with it. My head thanks you! :D
So, how are you feeling? You ok?
Now, sit down. I don't want you to faint when I *smooch* ya. I know it makes you lightheaded! And you could pass out, you know. *grin*
*smooch*
MTW: I do what I can
Jen: I'm okay. I've had a few opinions (the one plus of working with so many MDs and med students) and the consensus is that it is most likely stress related. I'm feeling fine and remembering to sit down. :)
*smooch back*
