Wow, I'm lazy

It's not like I planned to do much today. But somehow, I managed to be even lazier than expected.

Today's plan (as of yesterday): Go to Bed, Bath and Beyond to buy two wedding presents and a bridal shower gift. Get plane tickets (which are fortunately DIRT CHEAP) to go to said weddings and wedding-related functions. Clean apartment. Pay bills. Possibly watch some of the things Tivo taped this week.

When I got up, I decided that the Landmark Center was too far to walk. (For those of you who don't know the area, it is about five inches from my apartment). New plan: go to Bed Bath online to buy said presents, get plane tickets, pick up a few things causing clutter, pay bills, reply to emails/email people, read all the blogs I have missed lately and watch TV.

Well...I tried to get the plane tickets. Really, I did. And when the website didn't work, I even called the airline. But when the nice lady told me that they were having some problems and that my best bet was to check back throughout the day to see if it was working, I kinda stopped trying. I didn't really make it to Bed Bath online (too many letters to type) and somehow got sucked into watching random crap that my roommates were watching. I did manage to put away my laundry and write one email (which I got a reply to), but I neither replied back nor wrote any others. And now I think it is too late to be productive. Oops. Maybe I'll make one last plane ticket try, but that's all I can manage.

Plan for tomorrow:
Must be in lab for the PITA lab meeting at 9. Have perhaps an hour of lab work to do (thanks to changing all of my experiments in response to a meeting with the boss on Friday). FedEx is delivering my FIXED COMPUTER!!!! at 3, and I need to be home to sign for it. :) Meeting with landlord to sign new lease at 9. Looks like I have enough free time for that email/blog reading stuff tomorrow. Woohoo!!!

As for yesterday's wedding dress shopping extravaganza...it was actually pretty fun and not the torture I expected. All in all, a pretty good day. It worked out, because I was the only one who had ever been wedding dress shopping before (having accompanied another friend to pick one out) so I felt rather helpful. I was afraid that I was being a little too helpful (I spent some time picking up her train for her to make sure she didn't trip and doing other such random tasks) but mostly I was on the lookout for things that I would really have needed someone to do (and since I trip over my own feet, I felt like a train involved super advanced ability to walk, so I was acutely aware of it.) My roommate told me later that she really appreciated it though, and that she felt bad that I was doing so many random little tasks for her-like she was making me do too many things. It's not like she asked me to though, I was happy to do it. It worked out well and she got a pretty dress. I felt bad because she didn't end up getting her first choice dress (which was SO GORGEOUS) because it had detailing on the bottom that would have been cut off in the course of altering it for her height. This made me feel bad both because she couldn't get the dress that she wanted (well, she could have, but she didn't want THAT much of a heel) and also because I am a midget and I forsaw that I will have similar problems in 2073 when I am in this situation. The parts where all of the salesgirls asked me if I was a bridesmaid were super awkward, and I don't know how to take the fact that my roommate said "I haven't said anything yet" as I was saying "I don't know" instead of alleviating any of the awkwardness. At the same time, we were freely talking about bridesmaid dresses and at one point she threatened to make me try one on. Yeah, so that whole situation is weird, and I won't address it anymore since there are too many people that know her too reading this.... All in all, a good weekend and hopes for a good week.

I hear ya on that Bed Bath website. Honestly, couldn't they have just made it bbab.com instead of bedbathandbeyond.com. Ugh, just typing that wore me out. But hey- now you can just copy and paste from here. *smile*

Ohhh- you're getting a Fed Ex delivery? I bet your guy isn't as cute as mine. LOL.

*smooch*

Oh, by the way- I changed my user name from Star to Jen. I figured you would know who I was, but just in case you have other friends named Jen and you were like who is this?! I thought I'd let ya know. :)
